The main aim of the SSB is to assess the potential candidates based on their qualities (more precisely OLQs) by putting them under various tests. The evaluation is totally based on the candidate's performance on different aspects of testing.
No one fails in SSB. You are not recommended if you are not found to be right fit for the organisation.
Reasons for not being selected:
• Candidates bluff or fake things which puts a question mark on their originality or credibility.
o They copy paste note book and coaching ideas. It is a test of imagination and idea processing.
o The candidates write learnt sentences, facts, proverbs and sayings, without putting any pressure on the mind. .
o Candidates answer the tests in a manipulative way and responses are sometimes doubtful.
o Few tests are found to be fake, boastful as it does not match with the traits you displayed in previous tests.
o During GTO tests, they try to dominate and do not let others speak. Also, the thought processing and organising capabilities are not properly displayed.
o Some candidates do not cooperate in the group tasks. It shows lack of cooperation and team spirit.
o Spirit, confidence and effective intelligence lacks somewhere or the other in Ground outdoor tasks.
o Fumbling, lack of good speaking skills hinder the performance in the Oral tests.
• Interview plays an important role as it is one-to-one interaction with the IO. Improper dressing, shabby grooming, loose body language, bad eye contact and lack of expression and knowledge makes a candidate lose a ground for selection.
• Lack of determination and seriousness towards the defence forces adds to rejection.
