SSB SCREENING TEST - PICTURE PERCEPTION AND DISCUSSION TEST (PPDT)

 

  Is a part of the screening test.  In this test the candidates are shown a hazy picture for duration of 30 seconds and the candidate has to write down a story in 4 minutes by noting down the basic  parameters such as

  • Character
  • Sex
  • Age
  • Mood

How it is conducted:-

     The candidate are advised to sit in a big auditorium.   Then the psychologist gives instruction about the P.P.D.T test.  A hazy picture is projected from the projector for 30 seconds by switching off the light.  In this hazy picture the candidate has to note down the basic  parameters as  described above.  Then they should think a constructive /positive story in mind to write.

      After writing the story, they are taken out of the class room and made a batch of 15/20 candidates. Each batch is taken to an another class room and  the candidates are ordered to sit in a semi circle. Three officers sit in your front . The written story  is handed to you to remember your story written for one minute. Then one of the officer tells you to narrate the write up individually in turn and when the last candidate completes his/her narration, then there will be automatic starting of the group discussion in which you have to claim that the story written by you remains the best one.   

  • Then the candidates are moved to waiting hall for the announcement of the result.
