SSB PSYCHO TEST - TAT : WHAT SSB EXPECT FROM YOU WHILE WRITING THE STORY?

 

Write the story in the past tense.

*   Do not describe what you see in the picture, but express the thoughts, feelings and actions of the characters in the picture.

*   Do not write memorized stories which may have little relation to ;the situation depicted in the picture. 

       *   The story should depict some spirit of risk and adventure in life. 

*   It should reflect the candidate’s qualities like originality, initiatives, drive and leadership etc, in amply measure as it is the candidate’s personality that is revealed through what he writes about the characters in the stories.

*   The candidate should let his imagination have as high a flight as possible but at the same time he is not to forget that he is a terrestrial and not a celestial creature and certain limitations.

*   The story should be analytical in nature in the sense that interesting and instructive situations should be created and developed for the characters in the pictures and ultimately resolved to the candidate’s satisfaction after the consideration of their pros and cons.

*   The should be a self contained one.  It should not leave the reader guessing as to its conclusion and the real intention etc, of the writer.

*   Do not let the result to happen in future.  Conclude the story giving an optimistic or healthy ending.

       *   The theme of the story should be new, interesting and thrilling.

       *   Show organized, disciplined and logical approach to problems in life.

       *   Show determination to achieve aims and goals of your life.

       *   Show helpful and sympathetic attitude while dealing with people.

       *   Your stories should be based upon constructive thinking.

       *   Show hard work, resourcefulness in tackling problems.

*   Any planning should be backed by hard work connected efforts and ray of optimism.

       *   Co ordination and co operation should be the core of the story.

       *   Be a leader of the group in the story.

*   Show high ambitions & hard efforts of accomplish these / speed of action, initiative and high imagination / ability for organization / social adaptability / dynamism and self confidence / regard for honest dealings, integrity and orderly manners.

*   While describing the theme, the candidate should bring out certain OLQs which are expected of an officer.     

       *   Do not describe the picture.

       *   Do not try to connect everything unnecessarily with military life.

*   Do not bring or write slang / cinema story / negative angles

*   Do not give your characters historical names as Gandhi, Nehru, Siachen, Mumbai, Amitabh etc.
