GROUP PLANNING EXERCISE : IMPORTANT TIPS TO BE FOLLOWED TO COME OUT SUCCESSFUL IN THE GPE
- If you take a leading part in discussing the group plan, if you have given some useful ideas, and if your expression is good, then you automatically emerge as the spokesman of the group. Whether you present the plan or not, be interested, lively and cheerful. You must participate when the group deliberates its plan to solve the problem.
- During the course of arguments you should maintain composure, decency, good manners and balance of mind. Don’t show angry face, signs of nervousness and pessimism, while giving arguments. Try to accommodate other candidates’ point of view.
- Finally always try and give encouragement to those who are shy and hesitant. Your cooperative attitude and how the group accepts/recognizes you, are very important factors in this test.
- After the group plan has been presented, the others may be asked to offer their comments/criticisms/suggestions/differences if any. But after submission of group plan, giving further comments/amendments should be avoided.
- During discussion, the guidelines given by the GD are to be followed.
- It is to test to assess the planning/tactical/administrative/organizational ability/ mental alertness/power of understanding a problem quickly/finding its solution promptly/power of working in a team of a candidate.
- A candidate has to take active part in group planning / discussion and give thoughtful solution with confidence and clarity.
