SSB GTO TESTS : THE PROCEDURE OF HOW A LECTURE IS CONDUCTED

The candidates are seated in the class room. The cards containing 4 topics are laid in the table. Generally, they will be toughest/tougher/tough/easy. The option is yours, according to your potentiality/capacity. At a time when you are able to attempt easy topic only (a train journey), it should be presented in an excellent manner. However the advantage remains on the attempt of former topics only.

  • If you have enough confidence, choose a somewhat difficult topic. But if you lack confidence and your store of knowledge is limited, you should realize your deficiency and choose an easy topic of which you are fully informed and on which you can talk with full confidence.
  • The first candidate will pick up one of the cards and move to outside for preparation for 3 minutes. When the first candidate is speaking, the second one picks up one card and proceeds to prepare outside. After 2 ½ minutes of speech is over, a buzzer is given for further 30 seconds for summing up for the speaker and conclude preparation of the second candidate. The same procedure is repeated for the entire group.
  • The candidate while standing before the audience to give the speech should make his posture correct, focus on their faces, ensure that the speech is delivered in a natural manner, should be knowledgeable and understandable.
  • The candidate has to note the salient points in this regard that he should walk in a natural manner while going to deliver the lecture and coming back to his seat. The should be cheerful all the time.  Candidate should note that he should listen the speeches of other candidates attentively. That is also very important.
