Let me try for this question :
Let it be freshers or repeaters, all are the same in the eyes of the assessors and impartially treated during assessment.
For freshers SSB procedure is totally new to them. To make it more fair for the freshers and give them equal opportunity,
• The repeaters are sorted and separated at the screening process and are put up in separate group to avoid domination in group discussion during PPDT.
• Also the count of screened repeater candidates is less than that of freshers.
• Repeaters are expected to perform better as they have faced the 5 day procedure earlier and are better equipped with knowledge related to it.
• Repeaters are sorted with repeaters in a group after screening for further testing.
• The mistakes done by the repeaters are not easily neglected. Whereas the minor mistakes done by the freshers can be overlooked. Though both of them are expected to perform to their best calibre.
• The questions put up to the repeaters have some additions like:
o About the previous attempts, what went wrong if not recommended, what were the mistakes you analyzed for your rejection, how did you improve this time etc.
o If recommended and merit out, where do you think you could have performed better.
o How well prepared you are compared to last time, and what if you don't make it again this time.
o Do you think you have performed better this time compared to your last attempts.
Rest all goes the same. A fresher and a repeater both gets an equal opportunity to display themselves to their best and have equal chances of recommendation.
