• Sports and other curricular activities : these are asked to see how active you are besides your academics. Everyone knows the importance of sports. Suppose you have mentioned about basketball : questions like favorite player, team, what you like about this game, how is the game played-all the rules and regulations, trophies associated with it, India’s standing with reference to other countries etc. Extra curricular activities you have done - questions on your hobby-how it helps you, how do you plan to take it to bigger level, and why this hobby out of every other i.e basically what do you like most about it.
• About the Defence Services : questions like why you want to join, what inspires you to join, the current defence position of India, all the commands of Army, Navy and Air force with their HQs, Rankings in the Forces with their insignia, if your father is related to Armed forces - do study thoroughly about his career in it. Missile system of India etc.
• Current affairs and domain specific : Current Affairs which is very general and should be known to everyone such as CM of your state, PM and President of India- there are many who even don’t know it, about the Cabinet ministers, India’s relationship with the significant countries, any deal and your views about it. Domain specific is about your graduation mainly : your knowledge of subjects may also be tested.

Self Description based questions : this is very important and the most neglected part of SSB, do prepare it. What your parents, friends, teachers, colleagues think about you. Please don’t write this yourself, ask for actual views from your parents, friends etc and write down that. Lastly what you yourself think about you. Be truthful to what you feel, what kind of person you are and what you want to become. Maximum questions will be around this only.
