GTO TESTS - LECTURE : THE BEST WAY TO GIVE SPEECH IN THE LECTURETTE
- Be enthusiastic. Have belief in your subject and let others share it. Put spirit in your delivery.
- Speak clearly so that you are proper audile. Your voice should be impressive one. Don’t growl or murmur. Don’t chew words while talking. Talk slowly but steadily.
- Avoid pitching your voice too high or too slow.
- Introduce wit, humor only at audile points.
- Remember that number of words spoken per minute is as important as the pauses you give. Pauses help the audience to catch up and move long with.
- The speech that you deliver should reflect your emotional stability.
- While you are speaking, all your efforts should be directed towards and evoking or maintaining the response of your audience.
- Avoid any personal references and aspersions
- Be to the point and always keep your attention to the central theme of the subject of your speech. Beating about the bush would carry you nowhere.
- Use simple language and avoid verbose, high sounding or bombastic words. Verbosity or pomposity has a very harmful effect on your speech. Use cogent and forceful arguments in support of your stand.
