Group Discussion
THERE ARE CERTAIN TECHNIQUES A CANDIDATE MUST FOLLOW FOR SUCCESSFUL CONDUCT OF GTO GD TEST ..
GTO will brief the group about the group discussion test. Generally, group members will have to choose a discussion topic between the given two choices by GTO. Generally, the topics will be of current affairs or related to relationships between neighboring countries of India. Total of ten to fifteen minutes will be given to discuss about the topic.
Tips : –
- Listen the topic carefully and understand it properly.
- Try to initiate the discussion but do not become part of mess. If someone else has already initiated then listen to him carefully.
- Be an active member of group. Do not wait for your turn. Nobody is going to offer you invitation to speak.
- Try to put forward the solutions or probable developments in the related issues.
- Keep your voice loud and clear. Do not shout.
- Do not bother about GTO or other psychologists while discussion.
- Remember that it is ‘discussion’ so no need to argue on your point. Put up your views/opinion/thoughts politely.
- Convince yourself that you are part of the group and contribution for group discussion is your primary duty.
- If you are done with your points, then invite silent group members to speak.
- Communication language is not a barrier. Both languages (English & Hindi) can be used for communication.
- Do not repeat the same points. (Regular newspaper reading helps a lot towards content enrichment).
Do not intend to dominate the group. Allow others also to speak but do not compromise with your valid/logical/non-repetitive contributions
