SSB PSYCHO TEST : SELF APPRISAL (DESCRIPTION)
SELF APPRISAL (DESCRIPTION) : It gives a chance to the candidate to reveal his own personality to the testing officer, besides giving him a chance to assess himself and write his strong and weak qualities and to show the fair insight into himself. The principle is – the conscious of his weakness would overcome/get rid of them. If a candidate knows what he is made up of, he would be able to improve upon himself. If he overestimates his personality, he would lose rationale thinking ability and logical decision making skill.
- Do not write too much about your physical traits and family. Do not boost of your plus points. If you do not have a plus point, but mention it, you are likely to be caught without your knowledge. Do not describe a wrong or negative aspect of your personality in detail. Do not bluff, but don’t miss to mention the actual. You should be able to prove the actual achievements by way of live exampleswhich physically happened in your life.
- Give correct and accurate information. Be careful to avoid contradictions with what you might have written in PIQ. Do not waste time in describing your place of birth/home/service tenure at length. The emphasis should be on such factors which will provide data on your personality traits. The following should find a place in your narrative : The position/place/honor you got in exam/during your service tenure. The details of your participation/achievements in competitions/extra curricular activities/ contributions/functions/social service events/sports etc.,
- Your description of your inner self must match your answers given by you during your previous test. If it is truly self described, it helps to confirm the testing officer his findings of assessment in other tests – WAT/TAT/SRT.

- The time given is 15 minutes. The testing officer briefs that it should be written in 1 ½ to 2 pages and no extra additional sheet is given.
