Through the Int Tests, basic intelligence and aptitude of a candidate are tested. It is the test to select the suitable candidates who possess ability to solve the problems under stress with speed and mental alertness, giving sharp observations to the situations.

This is a test of one’s ability to find how quickly and correctly he solves the problems which require keen observations.

  • The main purpose of the test is to select suitable officers for various situations. To test one’s acquired knowledge/ keenness/ quick thinking/keen observation.
  • There are two types of Intelligence tests – verbal and non-verbal.  The items in verbal tests are stated in the language form. Verbal test – be a analogy test/series test/same class test. Non verbal  - be cubes/patterns/line drawings/pictures.
  • The candidates should know that the time is limited.  They are therefore advised to start solving the questions immediately when they are asked for by the testing officer.
  • The candidates should not waste the time on difficult questions.  They can attempt such questions at the last when they get time.
  • The candidates must make in their mind that they will go up to the last questions of the test paper.  The candidates have to note that some time there are difficult questions  in the beginning and then easy at the last probably Remember if you will not waste the time in difficult questions, you will get the chance to attempt all the questions of the test paper.
  • Accuracy is another factor which contributes for high marks.  It is better to do one question rightly than attempting three questions incorrectly.
  • OTHERWISE THERE IS NO NEGATIVE MARKING IN INT TEST

There will be 4 answers given against each question.

  • One out of 4 will be correct. The candidates have to write the number of correct answer in the answer book provided to them.
  • The candidates are advised to have sufficient practice in solving various types in IT, before they go for the SSB.  It will acquaint them with different types of intelligence tests put in the SSB.  Through practice, they will be able to use their capacity to the maximum extent and also sharpen their intelligence and commonsense – most vital in solving the intelligence tests.
