RECOMMENDED FOR ASST COMMANDANT, INDIAN COAST GUARD

I am S.Arun Palani Kumar. I have completed B.E Marine Engineering in 2013. Now, I have been recommended for Assistant Commandant in Indian Coast Guard. I wish to share my experience that I had in Shankar SSB academy, Salem.

As a Army brat, I have naturally interested towards defence services. After completion of my degree, I planned to appear for SSB exam. But I didn't have any idea about the exams. So, I decided to join coaching class. I gone through lot of websites and finally found that SHANKAR SSB ACADEMY in Salem is best academy so far.

I attended coaching classes from 11-03-2014 to 20-03-2014. Those 10 days are the most unforgettable days of my life. Why I am saying because initially I attended class with clueless option and also my way of thinking was like a ordinary person. But the completion of very first day class itself I could see the visible changes in myself. 

The Coaching given by COLONEL BALASUBRAMANIAN Sir was incomparable. His experience and vast knowledge helps to gather more information. His simple way of teaching and the examples he used to tell in the class which helps in better understanding. Due to limited strength in the class, sir gave individual concentration on each candidate. He easily identified the weak OLQ of candidates and motivate them to improve in their weak areas. He molded me as a Officer.

The Intelligence tests conducted every day in the classes improved my mental ability skills. A Computer based teaching for PPDT, TAT,WAT, SRT helps a lot in speedy writing and also improve the imagination capability. The daily homework gave more written practice. 

The topic given for Group discussion and lecture in the classes was little difficult when compared to real SSB. I have provided with notes for both topics that made me familiar with almost all recent topics. I got more information from the Sir which was not even in Newspapers. The task given for Group planning exercise in the class improved my decision making and organizing skills.

His crystal clear explanation about GTO task was very useful in SSB exam. The Mock interview conducted by Colonel Sir is similar to real interview. It helps in identifying where I was standing.

The Coaching is not end upto 10 days. It continues till our selection. Sir give full freedom for asking doubts at any time through Phone calls as well as email.

Finally, I achieved my ambition with the right guidance of Colonel Balasubramanian Sir. I dedicated  my success to him. I am proudly saying that he is my Guru.
